This page explains how to recognize fraud, how we will and will not contact you, and how to report suspected fraud.

How We Will — and Will Not — Contact You

• We will never ask for payment in gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or cash.
• We will never threaten to cancel your Medicare or Social Security benefits if you do not act immediately.
• We will never pressure you to make an on-the-spot decision or sign documents you have not had time to review.
• We are an independent agency and are not affiliated with Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or the Social Security Administration. We will not claim to call "on behalf of" the government.
• We will not request your full Social Security number, banking PINs, or Medicare number unsolicited. Share sensitive information only when you have initiated contact and are confident you are speaking with us.

Common Scams Targeting Seniors

• Medicare card scams — callers claiming you need a "new" card and asking for your Medicare number or a fee.
• Free-gift or rebate offers — promises of money, gift cards, or free medical equipment in exchange for your personal information.
• Impersonation — callers pretending to be from a government agency, insurer, or pharmacy to obtain personal or financial details.
• High-pressure enrollment — demands that you enroll or switch plans immediately or lose coverage.

How to Protect Yourself

• Never give personal, Medicare, or financial information to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
• Hang up on unsolicited or suspicious calls and contact the organization directly using a number you trust.
• Review your Medicare Summary Notices and Explanation of Benefits for services you did not receive.
• Take your time. A legitimate advisor will respect your right to review and decide without pressure.

How to Report Suspected Fraud

If you suspect insurance fraud or a scam, report it promptly:
